How to configure IPV6 on the Vodia PBX
Step 1: Enable IPv6 in Your Cloud Provider VPC
Before you can use IPv6 on Vodia PBX, you must activate it within your cloud provider's VPC network. Ensure that the assigned IPv6 address is public, just like your IPv4 setup. Cloud providers such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure offer free public IPv6 addresses.
Step 2: Restart the PBX Service
Once you have set up your public IPv6 address, restart the PBX service to make the new IPv6 address available. Navigate to PBX Status → General, where you will see both your IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.
Step 3: Configure SIP Settings
- Go to: Administrator (System Level) → Settings → SIP → Settings
- Modify the IP Routing List: Add the following entry with your public IPv4 and IPv6 addresses:
0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0/Public IPv4 ::/::/Public IPv6
Example: 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0/53.156.23.94 ::/::/2604:1031:f02:5::27
Step 4: Set Up Public IP Polling
- URL for polling the public IPv4 address: https://api4.ipify.org?format=json
- URL for polling the public IPv6 address: https://api6.ipify.org?format=json
- Set the polling interval to 60 seconds to ensure timely updates.
